CONFESSIONS OF A MOM

It's been an interesting week. We're approaching two years that a sweet little Lion joined our family. It's brought a mixture of emotions, and as I look back, this year was more difficult in many ways. Life is just very interesting. I'm sure I'll get more into it later but for now, I'm still processing things.

BETRAYED by Ronda Gibb Hinrichsen— #giveaway #bookreview

BETRAYED by Ronda Gibb Hinrichsen. From the first page I felt like I knew the story, like I had read it before yet I couldn't place it. The characters all felt familiar as did their situations. It was a very intriguing feeling that I kept thinking would resolve itself, but it didn't. The story was incredible well done. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romantic suspense. (Since it does involve a murder there are things surrounding that situation that may not be appropriate for a younger audience. Nothing graffic.)

Julia Barrett, a young woman involved in the Underground Railroad, hides Penny, a child who's running from the ruthless gang who killed her family, and ultimately faces love, loss, and self-sacrifice at the brink of the Niagara Falls.

CONFESSIONS OF A MOM

I had a sad realization the other day. A friend of mine has a beautiful month old baby girl. She's so tiny. My first thought was how small she was and how she reminded me of Lion's size. Come to find out she was over 7 pounds and 20 inches, 2 pounds and 2 inches bigger than Lion. I've forgotten how tiny Lion was ...

On the other hand, I've learned with my headstrong Tigger that if I ask him to do something once (noting the good consequences and bad consequences) then leave him alone, he usually gets it done without any arguments. What I haven't figured out is how to make that principal work when there has to be a time frame involved. (Call me crazy but I can see taking him somewhere without clothes on, yet at times getting the clothes on is a struggle.)

Bear is almost 19 pounds and is as happy as can be. He loves to stand and his bouncer. He's watching Tigger run with much more attentiveness than I'm comfortable with. I do believe I'm in trouble. :) I better up the workout so I will be able keep up. :)

LOVE UNEXPECTED— #blog tour, #giveaway, #bookreview

LOVE UNEXPECTED: A STORYBOOK ROMANCE by Melanie Jacobson, Jennifer K Clark, and Julie Daines. This was a delightful collection of love stories. The characters were wonderful. The stories kept me turning the pages. I loved that I could finish one, put the book down and come back later in the day. Each other definitely has a distinct way of telling a story but I enjoyed each style. The settings for each story all over, making them even more fun. I loved the subtle twists and turns each story took. I would recommend this collection to everyone who has some type of romantic bone in their body.

Storybook Romance by Melanie Jacobson
New York City book editor Ellie Hanover has discovered a groundbreaking manuscript that may be just what she needs to save her job. Undeterred, the young woman enlists in the scheme her employer’s brother has put in motion for the company’s sake in hopes that she can win over the man of her dreams. Fools of Us All by Julie Daines

ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES MEETS REFINED by Rachael Anderson— #bookreview #books #reviews

ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES MEETS REFINED by Rachael Anderson. This book was very cute. I enjoyed everything about it. It had me hooked from the first paragraph. Rachael did a great job weaving the story and revealing things at the right time. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a romantic at heart and anyone who believes in second chances (and even if you don't, it's a great read.).

For Noah Mackie, life is finally back on track. He has a great support system, a promised promotion is on its way, and he’s finally getting the hang of this single father thing. But when the job falls through and his neighbor’s matchmaking efforts become more aggressive, Noah is in for yet another unwanted detour. With his career and two spirited daughters to worry about, he doesn’t have time for dating—especially not someone like Cassie Ellis, his girls’ beautiful and sophisticated dance instructor, who is about as open and approachable as a brick wall.
Rough around the Edges Meets Refined is about two people who think they know exactly what they want but who have no idea what they really need. It’s about learning that people aren’t always what they seem and that sometimes life’s detours take you exactly where you need to go.

CONFESSIONS OF A MOM

Happy New Year. This was a little project Tigger and I worked on this past week. It was fun to see how excited he was at putting it together even if we did go through 3/4 a bottle of glue. :)

This year has been slow coming up with goals. I can't say I've really even expanded past continuing to work on the ones I set last year. The thing that has caused me a lot of thought though is the amount of people who have said they don't believe in New Years resolutions. It has made me wonder why. Why not set goals to reach for? Why not work on different things? Why not set goals? Maybe it's a semantics thing and they really do set goals, they just don't call them that. I'm not sure. What do you think?

Another thing I've for sure decided is that I may not have a CONFESSIONS OF A MOM post every week. I'll do my best but if there's only a picture or nothing you'll have to forgive me. I'm trying to get life in order and a bit more balanced and I'm finding sleep is a little more important than I've given it credit for . . . but only a little. :)

So as we step into this New Year, I hope it brings much joy, lots of laughter, tons of fun, and may you reach your goals (or whatever you may call them.) :)con

BETWEEN NOW AND NEVER by Laura Johnston—Cover Reveal

Today we get to reveal Author Laura Johnston's Newest book BETWEEN NOW AND NEVER!

Laura is an amazing author, so let's get to know her first:

Laura Johnston lives in Utah with her husband and two children. Growing up with five siblings, a few horses, peach trees, beehives and gardens, she developed an active imagination and always loved a good story. She fell in love with the young adult genre both through her experience in high school as well as her job later as a high school teacher. Laura enjoys running, playing tennis, sewing, traveling, writing, and above all, spending time with her husband and kids. REWIND TO YOU is her debut novel.

You may be curious about what this fabulous book could be about, well here is the back cover blurb:

A convict’s daughter should never fall for an FBI agent’s son, certainly not a teenager like Julianna Schultz who is furious over her mother’s incarceration and the injustice of it all. But that’s exactly what seventeen-year-old Julianna finds herself doing when Cody Rush, the cocky son of the FBI agent who put her mom behind bars, moves into her hometown of Gilbert, Arizona.

Cody Rush—studious, principled, athletic, good looking and blond to boot—is everything Julianna hates, or so she thinks. Yet a series of ill-fated events one night brings them dangerously close, entangling the futures of two people who were never meant to be.
