TRIPWIRE: A SAINT SQUAD NOVEL by Traci Hunter Abramson

TRIPWIRE A Saint Squad Novel by Traci Hunter Abramson. I've enjoyed each Saint Squad Novel since I was introduced to them and this one is no exception. I love novels that have characters I'm familiar with and love already. I did find some holes in my memory of Jane, so I'll have to go back and read Spotlight in order to fill those in, but I like Jane and her take on things. I like how the Saint Squad's mission was weaved into the story. There was good suspense that kept the pages turning. This was a book I couldn't put down and finished in a couple of days. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good suspense with romance.

Jane Napierski is back at work at the job she loves—being a personal assistant to her friend Sienna Blake, a rising star actress. The duo is on location in Virginia Beach to film Sienna's new TV series, along with costar Reed Forrester—the man with whom the world thinks Sienna is in love. Wrong.

Sienna's heart actually belongs to her fiance, Craig, a Navy Seal with the Saint Squad. Craig must fly under the radar if he is to keep Sienna safe from this world of terrorists and toxic bombs. And Reed has no problem pretending to date his old friend Sienna simply because it means he can spend time learning more about Jane. Making a TV series is grueling work but not nearly as difficult as the treacherous adventure that is about to begin with a simple photo taken in the wrong place at the wrong time—an image worth killing for.

When Craig returns to the United States to spend time with Sienna, he's not expecting to spend that time protecting her and Jane. Frightening incidents targeting the two women rapidly escalate, and as Craig and his Saint Squad investigate a tangled conspiracy, they find themselves tracking, here at home, the terrorists they have searched for across the globe. But can they shut the terrorists down in time to save Jane, Reed, and Sienna?

THE LEMONADE YEAR by Amy Willoughby-Burle. I'm beginning to think that women's fiction isn't my favorite genre. This was a well written book that had a great storyline but it wasn't my favorite. I understand Nina's struggles. I've been there with some of them. I was enjoyed getting to know Oliver and Nina together and try to figure out Oliver's mystery, but I didn't like how that ended up. Maybe there was no foreshadowing of his story. I'm not sure but I wasn't satisfied with what happened with Oliver, although in a way I can see why it works.

I did enjoy see how Nina's family relationships ended up mending. I did feel like there were too many flashback stories. Some were necessary but some we not. In the end, this book will appeal to lots of women. It is a great story, but just not for me.

Then her father dies and issues with Nina's mother come to a head; her estranged brother, Ray, comes home; and her sister, Lola, is tempted to blow a big family secret out of the water. All Nina's got left is her final photography assignment shooting images for the book 32 Ways to Make Lemonade. Well, that and the attention of a younger man, but Oliver's on-again-off-again romantic interest in her ebbs and flows so much she is seasick. And then Jack, her ex-husband, shows up, wanting to get back together.

As Nina struggles to find a way through her complicated relationships and to uncover her true path, she discovers just how valuable a second chance at life and happiness can be.

NEVER THAT FAR by Carol Lynch Williams

NEVER THAT FAR by Carol Lynch Williams. This was a very interesting read. I felt like it was a good way to show children how deal with the death of a loved one, however, I had a hard time with the way the characters spoke. It could have been because I was tired, but it felt like I had to translate in my head what they were saying at times. It is a good, clean read that most people would love.

MY DEAREST ENEMY by Jennifer Moore

MY DEAREST ENEMY by Jennifer Moore. I really enjoyed this book. I'm so used to Regency era that it so a nice change to read about something on the North American continent. It gave me a different feel for what was going on during that time period. I love to see how what is socially acceptable in society has changed over the many years, both for better and for worse. The characters are amazing as is the storyline. In a way I feel like the story could be continued which is fun to speculate but I was happy with the ending. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good historical romance, although it does touch on some of the unpleastantries of war so it may not be good for some.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE by Camron Wright. Wow. This is an incredible story. I couldn't put it down. I loved Dave Riley from the beginning, maybe because I could relate to him a little bit more than Katie. But as I got to know Katie and see how their lives were going to intertwine, I loved her as well. This is a story of loss, love, frustration, endurance, learning, growing, and so forth. I would highly recommend it to any and everyone, especially those looking for a fantastic book club read. There is a tiny bit of language toward the end, nothing more than you would hear walking down the street.

ASHES ON THE MOOR by Sarah M. Eden. I love Sarah's books and this one is no exception. The beauty of hard work and growth Evangeline displayed was so well done. I enjoyed seeing how Dermot and Evangeline's relationship blossomed through serving each other. The fiery tenacity Evangeline showed in working toward her goals is inspiring to anyone who is struggling with life. I couldn't wait to see how everything worked out for both Dermot and Evangeline. I would highly recommend this wonderful, proper romance to anyone who loves first a good romance as well as the growth someone gains from hard work.
