CHRISTMAS AT ANGELS LANDING by Jennifer Griffith. This was my favorite book in the Sugarplum Series so far. I loved the bidding wars between Sam and Tabitha. I loved how the rare book was found and the meaning behind it. I loved the twist at the end. There was just so much to love about this book. It will be a Christmas season reread for sure. Or if I need a little Christmas in July, it'll be read then too.

CHRISTMAS AT TURTLEDOVE PLACE by Jennifer Griffith. I was right! The minor character in the last novel became a main character in this one. I enjoyed this installment much more than the first, CHRISTMAS AT HOLLY BERRY COTTAGE. The forbidden love felt more real this time around. Sophie is such a wonderful aunt that I wished she was mine. Beau is a perfect match for her in every way. Part of me wanted to smack him for making his stupid decision earlier in life. Turtledove Place is beautiful and I felt right at home. Again, I wished it was my Christmas getaway. I highly recommend this lovely Christmas story.

CHRISTMAS AT HOLLY BERRY COTTAGE by Jennifer Griffith. What a fun Christmas romance. I had a hard time falling for Chelsea, but once I did the story flowed more smoothly for me. Wyatt was a fun character to get to know also. The forbidden romance really pulled everything together, and the unknown family animosity was the icing on the cake. This will be a delight to anyone who picks it up. And, there was a moment when I thought, "There's a story behind this other minor character." It will be fun to see if I'm correct.

This cute romance is a fun read. I loved Ben's and Delany's characters. They're give and take work really well together. The bet is fantastic. The details didn't feel realistic to me, but it worked in the end. There were a couple of things I didn't feel were realistic, but overall it was a very cute, clean romance novel that anyone would love.

 Okay. Thanks for hanging in there with me. I'm still figuring out the best way to do this. I think it'll be a week at a time. So here's catching up for the last week and this one.

We love the Old Lady books here. I tried to find this one on Amazon and it's not there yet, but it IS in the Scholastic Book Clubs. Great, fun way to learn, teach, and reinforce sequencing. 

I really enjoyed this book. It gives an insight into the current President that the media has not allowed. It was very enlightening to see his ideas in 2000 and what he has done in his presidency. Whether you agree with everything or not, it is a very informative read that I would recommend.

I love Clair Poulson books. This one was not my favorite. There were so many different elements to the mystery and so many different people involved that it felt like too much. I love a good red herring, but this had several that all twisted together. Of course, it could be that I feel like my live at the moment is twisting in so many different directions that reading a plot this involved was too much for me at the moment.

Lauralyn LaPlant and her sister, Bridgette, could not be closer. Their shared passion for adventure draws them to scale a sheer cliff one fateful day, but despite their experienced precautions, Bridgette suffers a terrible accident and plummets to an untimely death. I look forward to reading this one. These types of books always take me longer to get through as I find I can't speed read through it. I have to take my time, and time is not something I always have.

This was a cute read that I had forgotten I'd already read. It's a sweet romance that has life getting in the way of two people. I did enjoy the cute ending and it's a great read for anyone who loves a sweet romance.

Good, fast paced read, but it felt under-developed. I would have liked more from one of the plot lines. Halfway through the book I said to myself, "It's finally hitting it's stride." The plot lines merged and then fizzled out. I'd love to see another to round out the story.

Jamie Madero's summer internship turns out to be anything but ordinary when he discovers the truth about The Freemen Foundation. Now outnumbered and outgunned, Jamie and his fellow Insiders must stay one step ahead of their enemies to survive in this high-stakes novel of intrigue and deception. This perfect adrenaline rush of a book is suspenseful, surprising, and packed with action. You won't be able to put it down.

Fantastic beginning. I loved the characters but to me it was an odd read. I would have liked Poe to grow enough to let someone else in sooner than she did. There was some back story, but to me, it felt like there needed to be a little bit more to understand both sides more clearly.

Fascinating read. I loved how she wrote the book through lunches with her friends and taught the reader, along with her friends, the principles of investing. It is an empowering book that will leave you wanting to take control of your financial freedom. Highly recommend it.

My 4th grader asked me to read this book with him. I had started it before and never finished it, so he gave me the motivation to move through them with him. I found the war scenes with the dragons a bit on the gruesome side. Throughout the first half or so of the book I wondered what kids saw in the story. As it progressed, I saw and understood though. I've read through the first story arc (books 1-5) and have to say the last two are my favorite. I do love the characters, and I know my son loves them. You can't ask for more than that.

I love Jennifer's books. Every one is amazing and this is no exception. I can't believe what people did to keep books around and the risks they took. It would be good for us to remember the true sacrifices people made in order to preserve words on a page. Highly recommend this one.

MIRACLE CREEK CHRISTMAS by Krista Jensen. What a great way to start out the Christmas season. I loved Mark and Riley. I loved how we see the side of those heroes who not only live, but are wounded. It is not a side that is written about very often, and it was refreshing to have it shown so well in Miracle Creek. Everyone has some type of scars, whether on the inside or the outside. This is a wonderful story of healing, persistence, love, and changing our view point. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Riley Madigan escapes to the sleepy mountain town of Miracle Creek after her relationship with an A-list actor ends badly. At least for a time, she hopes her new job as a high school art teacher will bring her the peace and quiet she is looking for. The last thing on her mind is love.

Mark Rivers was a firefighter until he got trapped in a wildfire and suffered third-degree burns on his face and body. After a year of recovering, Mark is trying to piece his life back together but struggles both emotionally and psychologically. He's been a recluse until he forces himself to attend his niece's school play and sees Riley, the school's art teacher. Immediately, Mark feels a connection to her. Maybe it's the kind way she greets his niece or the way the art she created for the school play is reminiscent of his late mom's artwork. I thought the storyline of this book was really cute. It shows how focused we can be on our phones. It shows how self-esteem can be driven by that. The plot twists were cleverly done. What I was disappointed about was the language. It didn't begin that way, but about a quarter of the way in, curse words appeared. Nothing  past what you hear on the street, but I was saddened by the use of those words, especially since this book won a Whitney Award this year. It was my understanding that the books which won that award were clean. I consider clean not only to be content, but language as well.

Mommy blogs are great . . . unless the blog happens to belong to your mom.

Twin sisters Claire & Poppy are accidental social media stars thanks to Mom going viral when they were babies. Now, as teens, they're expected to contribute by building their own brand. Attending a NY fashion week and receiving fan mail is a blast. Fending off internet trolls and would-be kidnappers? Not so much. Poppy embraces it. Claire hates it. ROBIN AND MARIAN by Stephanie Fowers. This was a Whitney Award Finalist in 2019. I was excited for this story. Robin Hood is a favorite of mine. It was interesting how literal she was able to make the story. The little town was cute and the characters were fun. The romance between Robin and Marian was intriguing. I found that I had a hard time believing some of the things in the story. Of course prison sentences for different crimes are not my strong suit, but for me it was a bit on the unbelievable side. I would recommend the story for those who love a play on Robin Hood and good story with lots of twists.

A CHANGE IN FORTUNE by Traci Hunter Abramson. It's hard for me not to enjoy any book written by Traci, and this one was no exception. I love the portrayal of someone not corrupted by the sudden abundance of wealth. I love seeing so clearly Brooke's circumstance before and after. I related to and felt for Brooke and the trials she was going through. Jason was the perfect friend, and I loved how well they worked together. The tug and pull of the ups and downs in their relationship were well written and I was truly invested in their outcome. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story.

FINDING JACK by Melanie Jacobson. This 2019 Whitney Award winning book was such a wonderful read. It deserved the award, hands down. I loved Emily and Jack. I loved the way their relationship began, as I think many relationship begin these days. I loved the give and the take, and the lessons learned on both sides. Life is hard for everyone, and until we take the time to try to understand, we may be speaking out of line. I highly recommend this book to any and every romantic out there. A GUARDED LOVE by Adelia Burke. It's been awhile since I've joined a blog tour, and this book sounded interesting. I will admit that I had a harder time getting into it than I expected. Once I did, it was a pretty good read. I did find it difficult to feel as worried about one of the characters as I think was expected. It made some of the tension a little unbelievable for me until the stakes were raised. Then the tension and fear made sense. It was a clean read that most people would enjoy. KIT AND ELIZABETH, REALITY CHECK, UNEXPECTED by Karen Tuft

So I've decided that on the authors I've ready multiple books from, I will do them all in one post when possible. This post is all about Karen Tuft. Enjoy!

This was a good read that felt extremely familiar, although I can't figure out why yet. Some of the scenes were familiar enough that I thought I'd already read the book but didn't remember I had. Turns out I haven't so I'm still trying to figure it out. It was the same with some of the minor characters. I felt like I already knew them. And maybe I do, I'm just not remembering where. However, I had a hard time with Elizabeth at first. It wasn't until I realized that her childhood was extremely traumatic that I began to empathize with her. Kit was fun from the beginning, and in the end it turned out well. It is a clean read that any romantic at heart would love.

REALITY CHECK

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun to read a little behind the scenes on some of the bachelor type shows. It was fun to see the development of relationships in an unconventional way. It was fun to see how Lucy and Ethan changed. I loved traveling to the different places with the characters and getting to feel their excitement. I would highly recommend this read to any and everyone.

UNEXPECTED

This book was a cute read, but not my favorite. Maybe it seemed a little to forced? I'm not sure. As this is Karen's first book, I can definitely see the growth in her as an author when reading several back to back. It is a good, clean read that would resinate with many. I would recommend it to anyone. It just wasn't for me.

GLASS SLIPPERS, EVER AFTER AND ME by Julie Wright. This book . . . this book was so fun to read. It really takes you on a roller coaster of ride through an author's dream of what could happen beyond rejection. Of course there's a twist or a catch to that seven digit number. How Anders works into Charlotte's story and how Charlotte learns to love herself and to recognize what type of change is good for her is fantastic. I would highly recommend this book to everyone, not only for the fantastic love story, but for the underlying life lessons one can take away from this. This is definitely a must read.

LIES, LOVE, AND BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S by Julie Wright. I should have known better than to start Julie's book when I didn't really have time to just sit and read. Less than a day later, I had devoured it. My kids came home from school too early and naps not long enough, but I couldn't read it fast enough. This was an incredible fun story. I always enjoy being where I haven't been and this book was all over that. I loved Silvia's drive, and Ben's loyalty and how everything turned out in the end. For a couple of chapters I thought I would be mad at the ending, but it ended perfectly. I highly recommend this book.
