A CHANGE IN FORTUNE by Traci Hunter Abramson

A CHANGE IN FORTUNE by Traci Hunter Abramson. It's hard for me not to enjoy any book written by Traci, and this one was no exception. I love the portrayal of someone not corrupted by the sudden abundance of wealth. I love seeing so clearly Brooke's circumstance before and after. I related to and felt for Brooke and the trials she was going through. Jason was the perfect friend, and I loved how well they worked together. The tug and pull of the ups and downs in their relationship were well written and I was truly invested in their outcome. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story.

Law student Brooke Sherman leads an enviable life, with an impressive education, a prestigious internship, and an ambitious boyfriend who any girl on campus would love to date. But one phone call shatters everything: her father, the optimistic man who insists on buying lottery tickets and dreaming big, has terminal cancer. Desperate to get home and predictably unable to rely on her boyfriend, Brooke finds an unlikely hero in the form of her classmate.

Jason Ramsey has had a crush on his study partner Brooke for months, but he’d never encroach on someone else’s girlfriend—even if the guy doesn’t treat her the way she deserves. But when he learns of Brooke’s father’s diagnosis, Jason steps up to help however he can. In the weeks and months following, Jason is Brooke’s rock, and after Brooke’s breakup, Jason becomes much more than just a friend. But even as they plan for a future together, things get complicated: Brooke’s father had a dying wish, that his daughter buy one last lottery ticket. She never dreamed that fulfilling that wish would jeopardize a future with the man she loves.

SANCTUARY by Traci Hunter Abramson

SANCTUARY by Traci Hunter Abramson. Books by Traci are ones that I will pre-order before I even read the back cover. I have loved everyone of her books and this was no exception. The first page sucks you in and you can't put it down. There are unexpected twists, beautiful scenery, a bit of romance and tension at every turn. It's amazing to think that there could be situations similar to this happening around us and we'd never know. It's interesting to imagine. I would highly recommend this book to any and everyone, especially those who love a fantastic suspense novel.

:) :) :) :) :)

Kristi Hartinger has come to terms with her life as a single, thirty-something woman. She was in love . . . once. But following her boyfriend's tragic death, no one else could capture her heart. And nothing else could fill that void, though the serenity of the ocean came close. Two years ago, Kristi left the craziness of her Wall Street career behind and embraced a simpler life on her family's private island off the coast of Main. As a resident of the small beach community, she anticipates a quiet future—until she comes face-to-face with her past.
Ace Samson is dead, or so the world believes. As a member of a secret organization known as the guardians, he was forced to fake his death years ago, leaving everything behind when he became an agent. So when he is selected to offer a potential new recruit a job with the organization, Ace braces himself: for the first time in more than a decade, he must face the woman he loved—and left.
Kristi's world is rocked by Ace's sudden reappearance, and she's soon drawn into his world of danger and cover-up. But when Kristi herself becomes a target, Ace will do whatever it takes to protect the only woman he has ever loved.

PROXIMITY by Traci Hunter Abramson

PROXIMITY by Traci Hunter Abramson. This was a great read. Tia was so fun and I loved her relationship with Evan. I was sad when distance seemed to be in the way. Then with Colby, I could tell something was off but couldn't figure out exactly what and why until the end. It is a fantastic read full of suspense and romance. It is a perfect read for anyone who loves a good suspense novel.

:) :) :) :)

Tia Parker always seems to fall for the wrong guy. But when she meets Evan Spence at a friend's wedding, it seems like she's finally found Mr. Right. Their spark is undeniable, but reality may extinguish any hope for a future: they are separated by thousands of miles. As the couple struggles with the pitfalls of pursuing romance long-distance, Tia is taken off guard by a new arrival in town. Colby Farren is handsome and charming and has made it clear he's interested in Tia. Yet despite his obvious infatuation, Tia can't seem to get Evan out of her mind. Caught between the attention of two very different men, her complicated love life is soon eclipsed by much more sobering concerns. A break-in at her apartment is just the first in a series of bizarre events, each bringing her one step closer to a dangerous liaison. And knowing who to trust could be a matter of life and death.

TRIPWIRE: A SAINT SQUAD NOVEL by Traci Hunter Abramson

TRIPWIRE A Saint Squad Novel by Traci Hunter Abramson. I've enjoyed each Saint Squad Novel since I was introduced to them and this one is no exception. I love novels that have characters I'm familiar with and love already. I did find some holes in my memory of Jane, so I'll have to go back and read Spotlight in order to fill those in, but I like Jane and her take on things. I like how the Saint Squad's mission was weaved into the story. There was good suspense that kept the pages turning. This was a book I couldn't put down and finished in a couple of days. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good suspense with romance.

:) :) :) :)

Jane Napierski is back at work at the job she loves—being a personal assistant to her friend Sienna Blake, a rising star actress. The duo is on location in Virginia Beach to film Sienna's new TV series, along with costar Reed Forrester—the man with whom the world thinks Sienna is in love. Wrong.
Sienna's heart actually belongs to her fiance, Craig, a Navy Seal with the Saint Squad. Craig must fly under the radar if he is to keep Sienna safe from this world of terrorists and toxic bombs. And Reed has no problem pretending to date his old friend Sienna simply because it means he can spend time learning more about Jane. Making a TV series is grueling work but not nearly as difficult as the treacherous adventure that is about to begin with a simple photo taken in the wrong place at the wrong time—an image worth killing for.
When Craig returns to the United States to spend time with Sienna, he's not expecting to spend that time protecting her and Jane. Frightening incidents targeting the two women rapidly escalate, and as Craig and his Saint Squad investigate a tangled conspiracy, they find themselves tracking, here at home, the terrorists they have searched for across the globe. But can they shut the terrorists down in time to save Jane, Reed, and Sienna?

KEPT SECRETS by Traci Hunter Abramson — Book Review, Book Giveaway, Blog Tour

KEPT SECRETS by Traci Hunter Abramson. This was a fantastic read. The first chapter sucked me in as did the second. However, the renewed relationship between Devin and Grace was fun to read but I found myself wondering when we'd get back to the suspense side of things. Once Devin moved abroad, things moved at a good pace and kept turning pages. It is an exciting, page turned that any suspense lover will thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend it.

:) :) :) :)

Unexpectedly reunited after six years, high school sweethearts Devin Shanahan and Grace Harrington cross paths and have a whirlwind wedding. A lot can change in six years, however, and they must figure out how to make their two independent lives mesh.

Will the seeds of deception prove destructive to their newly formed marriage? And will the love that brought them together be the very thing their enemies use to tear them apart?

ROYAL BRIDES by Traci Hunter Abramson—review/giveaway

ROYAL BRIDES by Traci Hunter Abramson. I have loved the other two books in this set and was very excited when this one came out. It has not disappointed in any way. The opening had me hooked within a few pages and the fast pace continued through most of the novel. It felt like it slowed just a bit about three quaters of the way through, but that could have been because I was excited and anticipating the ending. The characters are fantastic as well as the plot, setting, and really everything about the story. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone who loves a good suspence/mystery with a bit of romance.

:) :) :) :) :)

In this eagerly anticipated companion novel to Royal Target and Royal Secrets, readers are invited back to the shimmering Mediterranean paradise of Meridia, where two royal weddings in a year are more than stressful—they're deadly...

SPOTLIGHT by Traci Hunter Abramson — #reviews #books #amreading

SPOTLIGHT by Traci Hunter Abramson. After the first chapter it took several more for me to reengage in the story. Once I was solidly hooked, I couldn't put it down. The plot was great and I thought I had things figured out, but I was pleasantly surprised to realize I didn't have it all figured out. I will definitely be re-reading it to see the clues I must have missed somehow. I can recommend this for anyone who loves a great, action packed novel with a bit of romance.

:) :) :) :)

Navy SEAL Craig Simmons has pledged his life to serve and protect, so when this newest member of the Saint Squad observes a stunning young woman on the beach being shadowed by an armed man, he leaps into action. It doesn’t take long to realize his mistake, but it also puts him in a position to meet a very well-known actress, Sienna Blake. For Sienna, the timing couldn’t be more perfect—she’s preparing for a role as a CIA agent, and who better to help her prepare than a Navy SEAL? Craig and Sienna develop a lighthearted friendship, though both are aware of their growing attraction. Neither realizes, however, that a treacherous enemy is setting in motion a terrifying plan to destroy Sienna . . .
A series of near-fatal accidents on set are too close for comfort, and Sienna has been lucky to escape with her life—so far. Despite the rising danger behind the scenes, the show must go on. When the Saint Squad is enlisted by the FBI to safeguard Sienna on the ill-fated film set, Craig is driven to protect the woman he is quickly growing to love. As the list of suspects and motives grows, Craig and the Saint Squad will do whatever it takes to track down the perpetrator—before things turn deadly.

FAILSAFE by Traci Hunter Abramson— #giveaway #bookreview #review #books #amreading

FAILSAFE by Traci Hunter Abramson. This book was quite the thrill ride. I loved it. It kept me turning the pages and guessing what would happen next. I loved the characters and the heartpounding action that Abramson wove throughout the story. And the underlining love story was perfect for this book. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone who loves a fantastic ride! It may not be suitable for younger readers due to the intensity of some scenes.

In the wide-open landscape of Pennsylvania, Charlotte Martin and her father live a peaceful life on their farm...or so it seems. In truth, the rural locale provides the perfect front for the father-daughter NSA operatives as they expertly carry out their mission: using a high-tech computer system, they protect a team of undercover agents. Some would kill to have access to this system, and it makes Charlotte and her father prime targets. It was only a matter of time before this nightmare unexpectedly crashed down on them, and only Charlotte escaped with her life. Before Dwight Martin dies, though, he initiated the failsafe lockdown, and now Charlotte's the only one who can access the system.
Writer Jake Bradford left the serene Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia for the hustle and bustle of New York to pursue his dreams and never looked back. Until now. Entrusted with his ailing grandmother's care, Jake knows he needs help—and he can't believe his luck when a lovely young woman providentially appears on his doorstep. Charlotte creates a new persona for herself and quickly develops a bond with Jake's grandmother. But it's the connection she feels with Jake that makes it almost too easy to lose sight of her reality: she is being hunted by men who will stop at nothing to access the intelligence she protects. With time running out, can the couple find a future together, or will Charlotte's secrets tear them apart?

Book Review--Smokescreen

Smokescreen by Traci Hunter Abramson. I've enjoyed Traci's books, but I had a hard time with Taylor. I didn't feel like she was worried enough when there were people after her. I liked Quinn and I learned a lot about Navy SEALs. Once I got past Taylor's chapters, things moved better for me. It was clean, fun read despite my frustrations. I would recommend it to anyone. Take a look at an interview posted here.

:):):)

Taylor Palmetta has spent the past year in Europe building her art career and hiding from Navy SEAL Quinn Lambert, the man who broke her heart. But Taylor can't seem to hide from trouble. When Taylor seeks safety with her family in Virginia Beach, a series of threats puts her on high alert--and puts Quinn into protective mode.

Despite the private loss that continues to haunt him, Quinn can't deny his renewed attraction to Taylor. But just as the romance heats up, a plot against the very foundation of the American way of life surfaces, and Taylor's paitings may hold the key. The Saint Squad is back in action as the team frantically tries to protect thier nation's security--and Taylor and Quinn search for courage to unlock the troubled past.

Book Review--Royal Target by Traci Hunter Abramson

Royal Target by Traci Hunter Abramson. At the LDStorymakers conference this past year, I was told that my writing style was similar to Traci's. So, I had to pick up one of her books and see. I did realize how many books she had published and had a difficult time choosing just one--sometimes I don't like budgets :-)--and to be honest I don't remember why I bought this one. I'm glad I did though. I can see some similarities and I'm anxious to read more of her work.

I liked the setting and premise of this story. The intertwining love story worked really well and the I felt for the characters. I learned a lot about how the CIA operates and loved trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I would highly recommend this for anyone that loves a good mystery wrapped in a love story. A definite :) :) :) :) :) Here's a blurb about and an interview with Traci. Let me know what you think!

When CIA agent Janessa Rogers meets the royal family of Meridia on assignment, she expects to use her skills in linguistics and security detail to protect and serve, but she doesn’t expect to find herself engaged to Prince Garrett Fortier, Meridia’s most eligible bachelor, as part of the security plan. And she certainly doesn’t expect to fall in love with him. Janessa resists her feelings, fearing conflicts in her personal and professional life, yet when the Prince admits his feigned affection has become genuine she can no longer pretend. Matters of security, society, and spirituality make their unlikely romance even more complex, and escalating political intrigue gives Janessa an excuse to ignore the questions in her heart. But when a terrorist plot against the royal family endangers them both, Janessa and Garrett must face the challenges of loyalty to family, to country, to God—and to love.

What made you decide to become a writer?
Being a writer was one of those dreams I've had since I was little. I loved to read so it followed that I would love to write. Of course, I was also going to be a veterinarian, a jockey, a journalist, an Olympian and any other number of things.
Who inspires you?
People who serve. I am so often inspired by people who are dedicated to serving in the armed forces or in one of the many other organizations whose primary goal is the safety of others. I am also inspired by the those people I see all around me, regular people who so often step out of their comfort zone to lend a helping hand to someone simply because they see a need.
What would you like your readers to get out of your writing?
That's a hard question. I write because I want to read a story that has yet to be written. In short, I write for my own entertainment. My hope is that my readers will laugh and cry along with me and my characters and just maybe find a perspective they haven't considered before.
Where did this idea come from?
An opening scene in Royal Target, one that takes place in Caracas, Venezuela, was born out of an actual incident, but mostly this book developed from tidbits of experiences combined with a lot of imagination.
Who was your favorite character to develop?
For this book, my favorite character was definitely Janessa. I loved the way she always seemed to find trouble without looking for it even though she typically was trying to make good choices.
Any advice for aspiring authors?
My best advice is to find someone who will give you honest feedback and then listen. With the emergence of e-books and publication-on-demand, getting published is relatively easy now in comparison to years past. Getting published well is as much a challenge now as it has always been. Write your best book and then make it better.
What can we expect next from you?
My next book, Obsession, will be released next month (September 2011). I am currently working on a spin-off of Royal Targetwhich will hopefully find its way into publication early next year.
Where can we purchase your book?
My books are available at a lot of different bookstores, including Deseret Book and Seagull Books. All of my novels are also available on Kindle at Amazon.
