THE CANDY CANE CAPER by Josi S Kilpack

THE CANDY CANE CAPER by Josi S Kilpack. I am a Sadie Hoffmiller fan. I have loved all her mysteries. This was not my favorite one of hers. I did love the recipes (can't wait to try them) and the ending was perfect. I guess I was expecting a little more action since her last ones had so much in them. It was a wonderful cozy mystery that did lead me through her decetive skills so well. It really is a great addition to the Sadie Hoffmiller stories. I would recommend it to anyone.

The theft of a friend’s priceless, family-legacy Christmas ornaments brings amateur detective and culinary expert, Sadie Hoffmiller, back on the case in a new standalone cozy mystery.
In the latest chapter to the Culinary Mystery series, amateur detective Sadie Hoffmiller continues combining her sleuthing with her cooking and baking to connect with people and gain information she might otherwise not have access to. Moreover, now that Sadie is married to Detective Pete Cunningham, she has a street-savvy husband to test out her crime-solving theories.
With Christmas approaching, Sadie is preparing for a large blended-family gathering—including many new grandchildren—in their home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Even with the festive chaos, Sadie drops everything when word gets out that her friend, Mary, is the victim of a holiday robbery.
At ninety-four years old, and nearly blind, Mary knows this is may be her last Christmas and the last year to enjoy her family heirloom Christmas tree ornaments. She wants just one more holiday to display her ornaments and following Christmas Eve Mass, she’ll pass them on to her great-granddaughter, Joy. Though priceless to the family, the collection has been valued at $40,000, and the Christmas tree in the care facility has never looked so good. But before the ornaments can be retrieved by Mary, eleven of the most expensive ornaments are stolen.
A holiday Christmas caper might be new to Sadie, but she’s ready to mix in her seasoned crime-solving skills with a pinch of new holiday recipes.

WEDDING CAKE by Josi S Kilpack— #giveaway #bookreview

Wedding CakeWEDDING CAKE by Josi Kilpack. This final installment of the Sadie culinary mystery series was incredible! The author wrote a note at the beginning of the book begging the reader to have read the previous 11 books in the series because characters from the past reappear. I have to admit, I hesitated to read it because I've only gotten through 8, but I committed to this post and there wasn't time to read the rest of them. Even with that handicap, the story was amazing. It couldn't have ended better. Everything was tied up beautifully. There were several parts that had me gripping my seat. This was an amazing ending to an incredible series that everyone should read. Check out my other reviews for this series: Key Lime Pie & English TruffleBaked AlaskaRocky RoadFortune Cookie (so I have some other reviews to write.) :)

:) :) :) :) :)

After years of mysteries, murder, and mayhem, the big day has arrived, and Sadie wants nothing more than for her wedding to Pete to be completely uneventful. When she receives a threatening, anonymous text message just days before the ceremony, she's determined not to let it interfere with the celebration she has carefully planned for months. But as the threat escalates from a distant fear to a frightening reality, Sadie realizes just how much she's underestimated the situation. Desperate to put an end to the games, lies, and manipulation that has shadowed her life, Sadie, her fiance, Pete, and her children pull out all the stops. What they don't know, however, is just how far Sadie's nemesis is willing to go to make good on the thread she made to Sadie three years ago. Will the wedding go off without a hitch, or will "'til death do us part" come far too soon? There's no turning back for anyone in the riveting conclusion to this twelve-volume culinary mystery series.

FORTUNE COOKIE by Josi S Kilpack—Review/Giveaway

Fortune CookieFortune Cookie by Josi S Kilpack. I love Sadie and the situations she finds herself in. The recipes make my mouth water and I love seeing a new area of the country. This particular story though edged on the almost too descriptive of the murder side of things. Maybe it was just the way it happened, and for that reason, it wasn't my favorite Sadie book. I can recommend it for those who love a great mystery that will keep you turning the page.

:) :) :) :)

Sadie Hoffmiller has always liked things to be just so. A place for everything and everything in its place. Order over chaos. And of all things Sadie should be able to control, her own wedding is at the top of the list. With the big day just three weeks away, Sadie is busily adding the final touches to her wedding plans but the arrival of a mysterious letter from San Francisco changes everything. The only person Sadie knows in San Francisco is her older sister, Wendy, whom she hasn’t seen since their mother’s funeral nearly fifteen years ago. Sadie has faced off against murderers and criminals in recent years, yet the possibility of reconnecting with her sister is both overwhelming and frightening. Sadie soon discovers, however, that the letter is just the beginning when Wendy’s world turns out to be a place of unanswered questions, twisted truths, and more than one person with a motive for murder. The more Sadie digs into her sister’s past, the more she places her own future at risk.
