UNDERCOVER TERRORIST by Frank Holdaway

UNDERCOVER TERRORIST by Frank Holdaway. This is the third book in his UNDERCOVER series (UNDERCOVER SAINT & UNDERCOVER TARGET). Out of the three, this began on the weaker side, but it quickly made up for it. After a couple of chapters, the story flowed beautifully. It was interesting to be "villian's" perspective for a good part of the story. And the way things worked out was perfect. This is a series I will be reading back to back and will love every minute of it. I highly recommend it.

:) :) :) :)

He'd been duped into planning the terrorist attack...

...luckily, no one was hurt.

But it didn't matter.

The FBI was on his trail and they would catch him eventually. Especially now that they'd enlisted the help of his former friend and nemesis, Matt Knight.

Before they caught him, he wanted just one thing: to run an epic ultra marathon and capture an elusive feeling one more time.

The upcoming race was perfect, pitting the best runners in the world against the Tarahumara Indians--the infamous "running people."

He could have stayed hidden. He could have held back as the sadistic cartel leader attacked the Tarahumara woman and her son. Instead, he stepped in. Now, everything was in jeopardy.

Would his injury heal in time for the race?

Would the FBI catch up to him in the canyons?

Would he be forced to return to a life of violence to protect the village from the cartel?

And most importantly...

...could he stop the Indian woman from singing ABBA songs?

PLAGUE by Gregg Luke

PLAGUE by Gregg Luke. Wow. What a fantastic, fascinating, incredible read. I was enthralled from the first chapter to the end. The pages kept turning themselves. About a quarter to midway through the book I realized that the story covered an incredible amount of scientific information that I wouldn't normally read about. Yet, I was hooked in this book. It was so well presented that I didn't feel like I was being lectured. I discovered it the same and some of the characters, and it was done in a way that was entertaining. I've had thought about everything covered in this book and the probability of something similar happening for days. I LOVE books that make me think on a whole different level. And the cover is amazing. My kids loved it, especially because some of it was raised and they could feel it. They have been asking me about it since they laid their eyes on it. (Although I have very young children and the whole novel would be way over their heads. They will appreciate the words someday.) I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. For me, this is one of my favorite books this year.

Centuries ago, the Black Death shadowed the world, claiming the lives of tens of millions. Now the world is on the brink of another scourge—and this time, it will be an extinction-level event. . . .
Professor Mitch Pine knows all too well the history of epidemics, so the startling new information he's discovered has him racing to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. Mitch has uncovered a startling pattern: dramatic environmental changes always occurred prior to devastating outbreaks, and current climate change may be such a catalyst. But before his plane lands, Mitch's journey takes a terrifying turn. He is intercepted by a woman who represents a dangerous faction whose interest in Mitch's research opposes his mission to save lives. To secure Mitch's cooperation, his research assistant is being held hostage. With so many lives on the line, Mitch embarks on a turbulent trip around the world, uncovering pieces of the puzzle until he ultimately holds the key to prevent—or precipitate—global devastation. Unless he can find a way to stop the lunatics behind his abduction, a plaque the likes of which the world has never known will be unleashed.

SANCTUARY by Traci Hunter Abramson

SANCTUARY by Traci Hunter Abramson. Books by Traci are ones that I will pre-order before I even read the back cover. I have loved everyone of her books and this was no exception. The first page sucks you in and you can't put it down. There are unexpected twists, beautiful scenery, a bit of romance and tension at every turn. It's amazing to think that there could be situations similar to this happening around us and we'd never know. It's interesting to imagine. I would highly recommend this book to any and everyone, especially those who love a fantastic suspense novel.

MIND GAMES by Stephanie Black

MIND GAMES by Stephanie Black. This was a very interesting book. The last phrase is very true. Nothing is as it seems. I have to admit that I found my mind questioning everything I read as the story went on. I knew I had part of it figured out but the rest of it was not as it seemed. It was a fascinating book that I will read again just to piece everything together. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good thriller and likes to really have to think about how the story will end.

UNDERCOVER TARGET by Frank Holdaway— review

UNDERCOVER TARGET by Frank Holdaway. What a fantastic story. I was hooked from the first page and had a hard time putting it down. The tension and suspense kept me on the edge the entire time. Everything from the adoption to the campout to the explosive battle at the end was extremely well done. Each character had a very unique, believable personality that planned an important role in the story. This is an exciting read that any and everyone would love, especially those suspense, adrenaline junkies, thriller people out there. I will definitely be finding his other book.

FAILSAFE by Traci Hunter Abramson— #giveaway #bookreview #review #books #amreading

FAILSAFE by Traci Hunter Abramson. This book was quite the thrill ride. I loved it. It kept me turning the pages and guessing what would happen next. I loved the characters and the heartpounding action that Abramson wove throughout the story. And the underlining love story was perfect for this book. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone who loves a fantastic ride! It may not be suitable for younger readers due to the intensity of some scenes.

In the wide-open landscape of Pennsylvania, Charlotte Martin and her father live a peaceful life on their farm...or so it seems. Some would kill to have access to this system, and it makes Charlotte and her father prime targets. It was only a matter of time before this nightmare unexpectedly crashed down on them, and only Charlotte escaped with her life. Before Dwight Martin dies, though, he initiated the failsafe lockdown, and now Charlotte's the only one who can access the system.
Writer Jake Bradford left the serene Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia for the hustle and bustle of New York to pursue his dreams and never looked back. Until now. THE HEALER by Gregg Luke— #bookreview #giveaway #books

THE HEALER by Gregg Luke. This was an incredible read. I was fascinated from the first page. The first chapter really pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading. I thought for sure that I would be able to skim some parts but every time I tried, I got sucked back into it and found myself reading every word. There was some medical talk that was over my head, but the story was wonderful. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is ready for a good ride.

ADRENALINE RUSH by Cindy Hogan—Book Review/ #amreading #books #reviews

ADRENALINE RUSH by Cindy Hogan. This book began as a real thrill ride. I loved the feel and pacing of the book. The characters were great, and I loved the concept. I was really enjoying it until the middle. Things got very disturbing to me. I didn't think the death-defying stunts needed to be as horrific as they were. It was very twisted in my opinion. I also didn't realize this was part of a series. I felt left out of some of it since the main character kept referring to things that had happened in the past. It was a good read, but in the end, not for me. Although I'd be curious to see how it all began. I can't recommend it for everyone.

Jason Tanner’s life has always been different from the ordinary citizen’s. It started when he was an infant and his parents were only teenagers. A computer science prodigy, Lloyd attended MIT but left a pariah in the eyes of the school’s dean—but a computer physics genius in the eyes of his primary investor. Then his theories and ideas created a holographic machine and their world shrunk as contact with the outside world became less and less frequent. A computer prodigy now himself, Jason is about to learn that the world never waits for you if you have the ability to change it: it will come for you. Detective Bruce Durante has been handed the case of the Comfort Killer, a serial killer so named because he appears to abduct terminally ill patients before returning their corpses to their families in refrigerated coffins. When he picks up the trail, it leads straight to the home of Lloyd Tanner. Jason has been living life through the world of Lloyd’s invention and wishing he could carry on a relationship with Boston, the beautiful girl next door. When his father is murdered and framed as the Comfort Killer, he is brought back to reality in a hurry. He is forced to destroy all of the planted evidence—and finds he is being targeted as the killer’s new fall guy. But the secrets of his father’s invention run deep and Jason, his brother Isaac,Boston, the Comfort Killer, and Detective Durante hurtle towards one another on a deadly collision course that leaves everyone’s life hanging in the balance.

Excerpt

Jason lunged, grasping the barrel of the gun with both hands. The large man countered, wrenching it back. Jason yanked, but his attacker would not let go. The gun jerked violently between the two aggressors, twisting back and forth as they struggled for control until—bang!
Jason released his grip. The large man gulped hard and stepped back. Jason felt his knees buckle, and he dropped to the ground. His shirt sagged with blood, his head light. He glanced at Boston. She was screaming and struggling to get free of the ropes that bound her so she could get to him.
“Riggs! What’d you do?” the small man yelled angrily as he sat up rubbing his head. “Paden’s gonna kill you.”
