THE LEMONADE YEAR by Amy Willoughby-Burle

THE LEMONADE YEAR by Amy Willoughby-Burle. I'm beginning to think that women's fiction isn't my favorite genre. This was a well written book that had a great storyline but it wasn't my favorite. I understand Nina's struggles. I've been there with some of them. I was enjoyed getting to know Oliver and Nina together and try to figure out Oliver's mystery, but I didn't like how that ended up. Maybe there was no foreshadowing of his story. I'm not sure but I wasn't satisfied with what happened with Oliver, although in a way I can see why it works.

I did enjoy see how Nina's family relationships ended up mending. I did feel like there were too many flashback stories. Some were necessary but some we not. In the end, this book will appeal to lots of women. It is a great story, but just not for me.

:) :) :)

Nina's once-sweet life has unexpectedly turned sour. Her marriage is over, her job is in jeopardy, and her teenage daughter is slipping away from her. Then her father dies and issues with Nina's mother come to a head; her estranged brother, Ray, comes home; and her sister, Lola, is tempted to blow a big family secret out of the water. They say the truth will set you free, but first it will make a huge mess of things.
All Nina's got left is her final photography assignment shooting images for the book 32 Ways to Make Lemonade. Well, that and the attention of a younger man, but Oliver's on-again-off-again romantic interest in her ebbs and flows so much she is seasick. And then Jack, her ex-husband, shows up, wanting to get back together.
As Nina struggles to find a way through her complicated relationships and to uncover her true path, she discovers just how valuable a second chance at life and happiness can be.

ALWAYS WILL by Melanie Jacobson — #books #reviews #bookreview #amreading

ALWAYS WILL by Melanie Jacobson. This is a delightful read. I loved the characters and how Will and Hannah just seemed to mess everything up. I loved the depth of their relationship and how it grew through the story. The ending was perfect and the journey to get there was wonderful. Melanie did a fabulous job of creating a story the was easy to read as the pages kept turning, at times not fast enough. I loved this book and recommend it to any and everyone with any ounce of a romantic heart.

A WAY BACK TO YOU by Emily Gray Clawson--Book Review

A WAY BACK TO YOU by Emily Gray Clawson. It's amazing how many book I've read lately that have had something related to death in them. I can't figure out if that's a new trend or I'm more acutely aware of that subject. Anyway, this book was a very interesting read. The whole question made me think, "What would you do with a second chance?" I loved seeing the growth of Annie throughout the story and how things worked out in the end. It's a great read for anyone and everyone who need a good book that has a good lesson throughout it. I would highly recommend it. If you would like to read chapter one, check it out under the excerpt tab here.

What would you do if you were given a second chance?
Annabelle, whom nearly everyone calls Anne, has been stuck in the past for two years. Numbed by grief over her husband's unexpected death and overwhelmed with the responsibility of raising their three young children alone, Anne agrees to let a friend take the kids for the weekend while she tries to get some much-needed rest at her parent's home.
But when Anne wakes up the next morning, she is suddenly sixteen again. And it just happens to be the worst day she spent as a teenager.
High school the second time around brings unforeseen changes and frustrations, but remembering that her future husband, Mitch, has just returned from a mission and is living on the other side of town gives Anne hope. Getting Mitch's attention (for the second time) is more complicated than she could have imagined, but Anne discovers she is stronger than she believed possible—and there just might be a future for her after all.
